The actuarial societies no longer test students on economics, corporate finance, and applied regression analysis & time series. Students can earn professional credits by taking college courses in these subjects. More invofmation is available on the VEE page. All actuarial science majors are encouraged to take courses covering the following topics:

Graduate Student Program

The Graduate program at BSU is a 2 year program that consists of 33 credit hours. Some students entering the program have sufficient background in statistics or related courses, which allows these courses to be waived. It is possible to complete this degree in 3 semesters (instead of the standard 4), however many graduate students have assistantships within the mathematics/actuarial department which require them to work on campus for 4 semesters. Additional info is listed on the Grad Mathematics website.

Many graduate students may also have taken courses at their undergraduate university which qualify them for VEE credit. Refer to the VEE page for more information. Descriptions of Math department courses are given on the Courses page.
